The Jump Dev Conference 2023 has officially wrapped up, but the impressions it left on the local tech community are far from fading away. With a lineup of 9 exceptional speakers, a full-day agenda packed with discussions of the trendiest topics, 300 participants and endless networking opportunities, Jump 2023 was definitely an event to remember.
But before we get into all the reasons why the conference turned out to be a smashing success, let’s have a look at the reasons why Jump exists - its mission, vision and backstory.
Initiated and organized by Ucraft, an industry leader in web building solutions, the mission of Jump events is to drive mastery, creativity, innovation and cooperation in tech and adjacent fields by creating a bridge between local professionals and world-class experts.
The events are organized with the vision to grow Jump into that very tech event developing Armenia into a true arena for worldwide tech innovation.
The first Jump event - the Jump Design Conference - took place in 2019 and brought together a diverse panel of experts to explore the future of design, exchange knowledge and ideas and build a community passionate about design and innovation.
Alright, back to our recap of Jump 2023. Here is our shortlist of reasons why the conference did as well as it did, from the first day of ticket sales to the last second of the afterparty.
The Topics
We’ve all been to tech (and not just tech) conferences that cover such a wide and disconnected array of topics as to make the event about everything and nothing. Jump was the exact opposite. The topics were meticulously selected to be relevant for senior developers and reflect the most essential tech trends of today and tomorrow - artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, open-source software, big data and cloud computing. This was the first step towards ensuring a thoroughly focused and well-targeted event.
The Speakers
Microsoft, Netflix, Google Cloud, Cloudflare, Booking.com, Yandex, LKI Consulting and, of course, Ucraft. The list of global tech leaders represented by the Jump 2023 speakers should tell you everything you need to know about the months-long selection process behind the extraordinary lineup. All 9 speakers were not only absolute experts in their respective fields, but also working professionals making daily contributions to paradigm-shifting innovations in the world of tech.
The Attendees
If the topics and speakers were scrupulously selected by the event organizers, the attendees selected themselves. And although no selection process was in place and participation was open to all, the event succeeded in gathering a deeply curious and engaged group of tech leaders, professionals, students and enthusiasts.
The Discussions
From post-speech Q&As to coffee and lunch breaks, bathroom queues and even throughout the cocktail-filled afterparty, the whole day was buzzing with conversations around all things tech. New connections were formed, ideas were born, knowledge was exchanged, opinions were debated and inspiration was spread in every corner.
The Venue
If you’re of the opinion that the choice of location is of little importance to the success of a professional conference, you’ve never been to one with a truly well-thought-out venue. Away from all the noise and distractions of the city, but on a short driving distance from Yerevan, Altezza by Armenian Helicopters provided the perfect backdrop for this first-of-its-kind celebration of knowledge and innovation (and yes, there were helicopters flying around all throughout).
The Promise
To build a bridge connecting hopeful juniors with seasoned professionals, the local tech community with global experts, and Armenia with global innovation - this was the promise of the event. And to put it mildly, the promise was delivered.
We could go on and on, but let’s stop here. We are sure that the reverberations from the event will tell more about the Jump Dev Conference than we ever could. Just keep an eye out for all the exciting things that are sure to come out of this extraordinary event.
Instead of a Summary, a Thank You Note
We are grateful to everyone who helped us make Jump 2023 an unforgettable experience. Thank you to our speakers, supporters, volunteers, hosts, DJs, servers, photographers, bartenders, chefs and, of course, attendees.
Missed the event? That’s no reason to miss out on all the amazing speeches.
